Summary

In this presentation, participants will be introduced to new ways of thinking about and practicing leadership based on over 10 years research at The Center for Creative Leadership®. They will also experience and practice some leadership competencies emerging from that research - competencies that they may well have to some degree but which they may not have associated with effective leadership.


Objective
For participants to learn new models, definitions and competencies for thinking about and practicing creative leadership.


Outcomes
At the end of this webinar participants will take away ideas for developing and practicing creative leadership in their everyday work. In particular, they will have practiced leadership as sense making and learn about 6 competencies needed for making sense of complex challenges they face.

 

Biography

David is co-author of the award winning "The Leaders’ Edge: Six Creative Competencies for Navigating Complex Challenges" and co-inventor of Visual Explorer ™ and Metaphor Explorer ™ David is a senior faculty member in The Center for Creative Leadership's Design Center. For several successive years, Business Week magazine has ranked the Center for Creative Leadership® as number one for leadership development in its “Executive Education Special Report.” David specializes in study and practice at the confluence of creativity and leadership and is typically used by CCL® and clients as a Subject Matter Expert in creativity and innovation. David learning designs include "Leading Creatively" - an arts based leadership program and "Navigating Complex Challenges." and many other programs where leadership and creativity were the major themes. David loves to coach executives to help them expand their horizons. He is Chairman of the Creative Education Foundation®'s Board of Trustees. David’s background includes 21 years in the computer industry as an engineer, manager, marketer, and strategist. David describes himself as an engineer and an artist in training. He is a musician and poet who uses these gifts to coach and develop others
