Francis
Butler will facilitate a session to explore what it is like
to be a business psychologist in the Public Sector; what Public
Sector employers are looking for in Business Psychology graduates,
and what he sees as being the difference between Business
and Occupational Psychology.
Biography
Francis,
who is a Chartered Occupational psychologist and Fellow of
the British Psychological Society (BPS) has spent his career
working as an Occupational Psychologist in the Civil Service
and more recently as a Business Psychologist with the Metropolitan
Police Service. He has also been an Associate Lecturer in
Social Psychology with the Open University since 1978. He
is currently semi-retired; doing some consultancy work; still
teaching for the OU and acting as an Assessor for Chartership
to the BPS (Occupational Psychology). He is Chair of the Association
of Business Psychologists (ABP) and Chair-Elect of the London
and Home Counties Branch of the BPS and a member of the Representative
Council of the BPS.
